New Nokia Android Flagship Smartphone Finally Revealed

nokia 8 android smartphoneThe new Flagship device of the Finnish company HMD Global will be launched in early September this year. This week, the company revealed the characteristics and the price of the smartphone which will be its first device branded with the name Nokia and powered by Google’s mobile operating system Android.

Officially, the new phone will be called Nokia 8, and according to HMD Global, it will be delivered with all the latest features that users expect from a smartphone. At the same time, however, the flagship device of the company will have a price tag that is rather in the higher price range. The price is set at around $705, which equals €599, and the new Nokia phone will be available in stores and online in Europe within a couple of weeks.

Pictures of the new Nokia 8 show that the new smartphone is quite slim, has curved frame design and will be offered in three colors: Steel, Polished Copper, and Tempered Blue. All three colors options will be offered with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, whereas there will also be a Polished Blue model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The device will also have a finger print sensor located at the front. The exact dimensions of HMD Global’s first flagship device have also been given, and they are 151.5×73.7×7.9mm.

Further details are related to the technical characteristics of Nokia 8 as revealed by HDM Global. The phone will be operating with a Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 Octa-core processor that has 4×2.45 GHz Kryo & 4×1.9 GHz Kryo microarchitecture and an Adreno 540 GPU. Further on, the 5.3-inch display of the new Nokia device will come with a 1440×2560 resolution and a density of approximately 554 PPI pixel. The back camera has 13 MP, and it will offer laser and phase detection autofocus, image stabilization and video recording. The front camera also has 13 MP.

For its connections, the Nokia 8 is equipped with dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.00, and the device will support GPS with A-GPS, BDS and GLONASS as well. Users will also be able to expand the internal storage through microSD cards up to 256GB. The smartphone will be delivered with Google’s mobile operating system Android 7.1.1. (Nougat) by default, however, it should be immediately upgradable to Android 8.
